A lot of times, when faced with a difficult situation, only after trying everything in our power to rectify it, we turn to God.
Have there been times when you have said, or heard someone solemnly say, something like: “Well, I guess all we can do now is trust God,” or “It’s in God’s hands now“?
How many of us know that trusting God should always be our first course of action? Furthermore, it shouldn’t be something that we speak with a sad countenance, but with one of great joy.
The trials that we go through are no fun, but they give us the opportunity to learn to trust God and grow closer to Him. It’s a sweet thing to trust in Jesus.
Trusting God, shouldn’t be to us as a last resort. It’s not “all we can do now,” but it’s what we need to do from the start.
Does God Hurt?
If you’ve ever been in any type of close relationship, have you ever had to deal with the fact that the other person didn’t trust you? How did it make you feel?
If you’ve never been in this situation, then how would you feel if your spouse, child, close friend or family member, had absolutely no confidence in you to do anything, although you’ve proven yourself many times?
It would hurt.
God created us in His image. The Bible talks about His anger, jealousy, joy, and He is love. Therefore, we have reason to believe that He experiences emotions as we do, although His are perfect and ours are not.
Numbers 14:11 reads, “Then the Lord said to Moses: “How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them?”
Can’t you just hear the disappointment in God’s voice?
I believe that it not only angers and disappoints God, but it hurts Him when we don’t trust Him.
He Comes Through
I was fortunate enough, to recently have an experience, where I really needed something specific from God. I was believing Him for exactly what I needed, and I was accepting nothing less. Not because I thought that I deserved it, but because I believed that He was able.
He came through for me, just like He always does, and as always, He was right on time. As a result, now I trust Him even more.
God delights in us when we trust Him, and when we believe His word.
Now, Trusting God doesn’t mean to sit back and wait for Him to hand you something. If you need friends, go somewhere and make yourself accessible. If you need work, put in applications and go on interviews, but pray and believe that God can make it happen.
Don’t Believe The Lies
It’s easy to let doubt, fear and worry take over, but every time you start to feel these attackers rise up in your mind, quickly knock them right back down. Sucker-punch the lie with the truth of God’s Word.
Seriously, don’t let these things take root, because they can rob you of your blessing.
Remember, without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6)
I don’t know how He does it, but He always comes through in one way or another. I’ve seen Him do it too many times. If you are walking in His ways and keeping His commandments, then be encouraged! He will always work it out for you!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
