Have there been times when you’ve said, or heard someone else solemnly say something like: “Well, I guess all we can do now is trust God,” or “All we can do now is pray?” A lot of times when faced with a difficult problem, we turn to God only after we’ve tried everything in our own power to resolve it.
Sometimes, we forget that trusting God shouldn’t be our last resort, but instead it should be our first course of action, combined with prayer.
God wants us to depend on Him and have faith in Him for everything. The trials that we go through aren’t desirable, but they give us an opportunity to learn to trust Jesus and grow closer to Him.
Think about this question. In any type of close relationship that you’ve been in, have you ever had to deal with the fact that the other person didn’t trust you, despite the many times that you had proven yourself trustworthy? How did that feel?
It hurt, didn’t it? Well, how much more does it hurt God when we don’t trust Him, even though He’s proven Himself to us over and over again? Think about how He must have felt when the Israelites, His chosen people, didn’t believe Him, even after He performed many miracles among them.
Now consider this. When was the last time that God failed you? Do you remember a time when He did not come through? Now, how many times has He made a way for you? When we take a moment to consider all that He’s already done, we find that there’s no reason to second-guess Him.
Still, it’s easy to let doubt, fear, and worry invade our minds. Whenever we start to feel the lies of these attackers rise up in our thoughts, we quickly knock them back down with the promises of God. We sucker-punch the lie with the truth of God’s Word.
It’s crucial that we practice this because if we allow these lies to take root, they will grow bigger and stronger until they eventually overshadow our faith and rob us of our breakthrough. Remember, without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).
Our Father always comes through in one way or another. He’s done it too many times. He delights in us when we trust and believe in Him and if you’re walking in His ways and putting your trust in Him, then be encouraged today because He is ready to move on your behalf. Have faith in God. He will work things out for you – in His perfect way and in His perfect timing.
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Psalm 9:10 (NKJV)
I love the way this King James Bible feels in my hands. I love holding it, I love the texture of it, I love the smell of it. It’s imitation leather but still of excellent quality. It offers scripture references at the bottom of the pages and the letters are big enough to easily see without straining your eyes. I’ve had it for a few years now and the only thing I’ve noticed is that the words on the front, “HOLY BIBLE,” seem to be wearing off a little and I don’t believe it came that way. Still, it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Overall it’s an awesome bible. I highly recommend it.
